Blackburn Rovers 2 – 2 Wigan

Oh dear, we gave the game away.

Blackburn Rovers let slip a two-goal lead as League One promotion rivals Wigan Athletic fought back well to earn a deserved Lancashire derby draw.

Bradley Dack sent Adam Armstrong clear for a well-taken early opener before getting away with a rough challenge to set up Elliott Bennett’s second.

But Michael Jacobs’ shot deflected in off Will Grigg’s knee for the Wigan top scorer’s 17th goal of the season.

Max Power’s wickedly dipping right foot 73rd-minute free-kick then levelled.

After the concession of a soft free-kick out on the left touchline, Power’s curling delivery beat everybody as Rovers keeper David Raya was distracted by the movement of players around him.

In what looks a four-horse race for automatic promotion, the Latics remain six points off top spot, but have two games in hand on both second-placed Shrewsbury and fourth-placed Rotherham – and four on>>
