Blackburn Rovers were spurred on to beat Bury after being booed by their own fans at the end of the first half, says boss Tony Mowbray.

The 2-0 win that put Rovers top of League One followed second-half goals by Danny Graham and Adam Armstrong.

Blackburn Rovers captain Charlie Mulgrew struck twice as Blackburn defeated promotion rivals Shrewsbury.

Mulgrew marked his 50th league start with a goal early in the first half before Jon Nolan’s 35th-minute penalty levelled matters.

Blackburn Rovers made it three successive League One wins at home with a 2-0 victory over struggling Rochdale.

A dour opening was ended in the 35th minute through a Kgosi Ntlhe own goal and Charlie Mulgrew’s emphatic 42nd-minute penalty doubled their lead to move Rovers to within a point of second-placed Shrewsbury.
